Regulations

Which waste products?
All bulky objects and unwanted objects from your attic (furniture, mattresses, household appliances, scrap metal, etc.). These items must be able to be carried by two people without risk to the collectors or the collection truck.

The following items are not considered to be “bulky waste”: paper/cardboard, glass packaging, construction or demolition waste, containers filled with liquids (paints), flammable, toxic, or explosive waste such as batteries, tires, gas cylinders (to return to your vendor), garden waste, agricultural plastics. All of these waste items, with the exception of explosives, should be brought to the container park. Bulky metal and wood items and garden wastes can be valorized if they are brought to the container park.

Electrical and electronic equipment waste is subject to a recall order as of July 1, 2002. Bring it to the container park! Old fridges, televisions, toasters, vacuums, electric razors, etc. will be disassembled and valorized.

For any additional information on the nature of bulky items, contact the city’s Public Works service at 061/61.32.30.

Waste disposal

Leaving objects along public streets can sometimes bring about serious consequences (e.g. acts of vandalism, the fall of a pedestrian). The owner is responsible for the objects that he or she leaves outside, even if these have been moved by a third party. Placing objects outside in advance is therefore strictly prohibited and can be penalized by a fine of 500 FB (12.39 EUR).
